We
believe that to support a child’s education, learning and ability to meet
individual goals, we need to work as a team. All staff, parents and community
work together to encourage students in their learning journey.
Parents
are included in decision making with teachers during parent teacher interviews, with their ideas and opinions encouraged and valued.
We regularly communicate with parents; verbally, weekly newsletter –
paper copy or email, school website, class letters, school sign, text messages, weekly reports, end of term updates,
and semester report cards to share current school happenings and student
achievement.
Many
parents and grandparents volunteer in the classroom, at school camps, during sporting events,
tuckshop, working bees and an array of fundraising events. Parents of pre-prep
children are supported through a fortnightly school-based playgroup held at school.
We
hold a number of events during the course of the year where parents are invited
to meet with teachers to discuss current units being studied, and to share with
parents and families, students’ current learning. These include whole school events, special parades, parent information sessions and parent-teacher
interviews. At the end of each term, we hold a special parade for students to
showcase their learning and achievements for parents and community members.
